Shorewood Hills is a village in Dane County, a suburb of Madison and part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. The village is bounded on the east by the UW-Madison campus, on the south by University Avenue, on the west by Madison and on the north by Lake Mendota.
Shorewood Hills has an extensive list of recreation programs available, including programs for tennis, golf, basketball, gardening, kayaking, and much more. The village also has a rich history. The effigy mounds built by the early Native Americans have been preserved as so they can be seen by everyone for many generations to come. There is also an extremely rich architectural history in the Village of Shorewood Hills. Frank Lloyd Wright grew up in the Madison area, so naturally there are signs of his work all over the area, with some of it being in Shorewood Hills. He designed The Pew House and The First Unitarian Meeting House, which became one of his most famous buildings and makes it a must see for those who appreciate his work.
