About Maple Bluff
Maple Bluff is a small residential suburb of Madison. This area was once occupied by the Winnebagos because of the lush maple groves and Lake Mendota which provided excellent fishing and hunting. The village limits are defined by Lake Mendota to the west, Sherman Ave. and the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad to the east, the Yahara River to the south and Warner Park Boat launch to the north.
Maple Bluff is also well known for the site of Wisconsin Governor’s Mansion, which is the residence of the Governor of Wisconsin, and his family. Maple Bluff is also known as one of the wealthiest areas in the state.
There are many different recreational activities to do within Maple Bluff. The community sits on Lake Mendota which lets residents fish and swim to their heart’s content. The avid golfer can spend their day relaxing by making a tee time at the beautiful Maple Bluff Country Club.
